Charlotte Berger

BERGER, Charlotte S., age 83, of Tampa, died Tuesday November 10, 2009. Ms. Berger came to Tampa over 50 years ago from her native, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She attended Cazenovia Junior College and was a graduate of Duquesne University. Charlotte was an active member of Congregation Schaarai Zedek, volunteered and was one of the original "Pink Lady's" at Tampa General Hospital, and participated in the NCJW, Hadassah, the Davis Island Bowling League and was an avid Mah Jong player. She will be remembered most for her humor, quick wit and her undying love for her three grandchildren. Preceded in death by her son, Andrew J. Berger and parents, Harry and Marguerite (Cohen) Spitz, she is survived by her son, Robert K. Berger of Tampa; daughter Cynthia D. Berger of Ardmore, PA; grandchildren, Alexander R. Berger, Benjamin A. Berger, and Elliott M. Berger and her good friend and companion Dick Yalem. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday,November 13, 2009 at Congregation Schaarai Zedek, 3303 W. Swann Ave., Tampa. Following the funeral, the family will receive friends from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Colonnade Restaurant, 3401 Bayshore Boulevard, Tampa. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, 3607 N. Armenia Avenue, Tampa 33607 or a charity of the donor's choice.
