Carl Altshuler

Altshuler, Carl J. Age 96, of Tampa, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at home. Mr. Altshuler came to Tampa 10 years ago from his native Connecticut. Born in Hartford, CT, in 1918, son of the late Morris and Anna Ellin Altshuler, he was a longtime resident of West Hartford, CT. He was a proud veteran of the European campaign in World War II who before deploying overseas married his beloved Lillian Falk of New Britain, CT, in 1943. She predeceased him in December 2014. He had a long career as a retailer of women's apparel and design consultant in the fashion industry. He will be missed by his son and daughter-in-law David and Linda Altshuler of Larchmont, NY; daughter and son-in-law Joan Altshuler and Lee Rubin of Tampa; and four grandchildren, Suzanne Altshuler, Daniel (Robin) Rubin, Jonathan Altshuler, and Samuel Rubin. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York (www.mjhnyc.org) and the National World War II Museum in New Orleans (www.nationalww2museum.org). There will be a Shiva service Saturday evening (2/28/15) at 7:00 PM and Sunday at 6:00 PM at the home of Joan Altshuler and Lee Rubin, 204 South Woodlynne Avenue, Tampa 33609
