KARPAY, Bobbe, age 76 of Tampa, died Monday June 29, 2009 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Chicago, she grew up in New York and came to Tampa 50 years ago. Along with her beloved husband of 58 years, George, she was extremely proud of the contributions they were able to make to the Tampa community. She was a member of Congregation Schaarai Zedek, founding member of the Lion of Judah, among the founders of the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, active member of Hadassah, and volunteered as a Pink Lady at St. Joseph's Hospital. Survivors include her husband George; her mother Anne Denenberg (the late Nate); her four children and their spouses Karen and Sergio Waksman, Barry and Joyce Karpay, Kenny and Jeannette Karpay, and Ellen and Lisha Karpay-Brody; 3 brothers Byron Denenberg, Bruce Denenberg, and Steve Denenberg; and 10 cherished grandchildren, Alex Berger, Brian Waksman, Kevin Karpay, Isaac Karpay, Caleb Karpay, David Karpay, Robert Karpay, Sadie Karpay-Brody, Nathan Karpay-Brody, and Allie Karpay-Brody. Private graveside services will be held. A memorial service will be conducted at Temple Shaarai Zedek Wednesday 11:00 am. with Rabbi Richard Birnholz officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to LifePath Hospice, Lifelink, or the charity of one's choice.
