Barbara Moudy

MOUDY, BARBARA, C., 88, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2023. Barbara was a native of Boston and moved to Florida 45 years ago. She was an elementary school teacher for 40 years, ending her career in special education. She also served as an Intelligence Analyst for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Barbara joined Congregation Beth Am in 1999 and became a Bat Mitzvah six years later. She has left a special mark on the Sisterhood where she served as Corresponding Secretary from 2005-2007, and then as President from 2007-2011. In 2011 she was selected as Congregation Beth Am’s Woman of Distinction in 2011. For 12 years Barbara volunteered at University Community Hospital where she visited all Jewish patients and led Shabbat prayers on a weekly basis. Barbara was a dynamic, expressive, engaging and supportive person and never shied away from expressing her opinion and asking questions. Barbara loved her family and always put her family first, it was most important to her! She spent her entire life devoted to others. Barbara was predeceased by her eldest son. Barbara is survived by her daughter and son, 3 grandchildren and one great grandchild. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to Life Path Hospice.
