NEWMAN, Ann Esther (nee Silver), age 90 of Tampa died Monday, October 29, 2018. Mrs. Newman was born in Baltimore, Maryland and came to Tampa in 2006 from Aventura, FL. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Albert Newman, They lived in Havre de Grace, MD, where she had resided for more than 30 years and helped at the family business, City Pharmacy. Ann and Albert were founding members of the Harford Jewish Center (now known as Temple Adas Shalom), was active in the Temple Sisterhood and ran the Temple gift shop for many years. Upon arrival in Florida in the mid eighties, she continued to volunteer socially, running the Aventura Social Club and she was a life member of Hadassah. Ann was the daughter of Sol Isidore and Julia Levin- Silver and was the last of seven siblings, Sam, Joe, Hank and Morris Silver, Jean Silver-Theis, Max Dorf and Blanche Dorf- Fader. Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Szekely (Stephen), Michele Newman (Michael Behringer), Darla Newman (George Ward) and Lisa Newman (Ken Aylmer) and three cherished grandchildren, Peter (Nicole) Szekely, Matthew Behringer and Jenna Behringer. Funeral services will be held in Baltimore.
