Amiee Salsbury Mezrah

Amiee Salsbury Mezrah, 84 years old, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at her home in Tampa, Florida after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Amiee was born on January 18, 1939 in Tampa, Florida, where she lived her entire life. Amiee graduated from Jefferson High School. She attended The University of Alabama and The University of Miami. She was an art teacher at Ballast Point Elementary and Grady Elementary. Later in life, she opened her own travel agency, planning honeymoons, ski trips, and family vacations for countless travelers who would enjoy trips of a lifetime. Amiee met the love of her life, Jack, on a blind date. Within one month, they were engaged and celebrated 52 years of loving marriage together. Amiee lived life to the fullest, always on the go! She had a passion for traveling, gambling, and shopping. Anyone who knew her knows that her world revolved around her three boys and her many dogs. Amiee was a lifelong member of Rodeph Sholom Synagogue, along with her family who were founding members. She was also an active member of Rodeph Sholom Sisterhood, a tradition which she carried on from her mother. Amiee is predeceased by her loving husband, Dr. Jack Mezrah. She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Michael and Nicole, Allan and Diane, Brian and Michele; seven grandchildren, McCaley, McKenzie, Jacob, McLayne, Chloe, Emilee and Finley; her sister and brother-in-law, Dale and Charlie Gratz; and her brother-in-law and his wife, Leon and Diane Mezrah. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Amiee’s honor to Lifepath Hospice, The Alzheimer’s Association, or Congregation Rodeph Sholom. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 13, 2023 at 11:30AM at Congregation Rodeph Sholom, 2713 Bayshore Boulevard, Tampa. The family will have Shiva services on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 6:30PM also at Congregation Rodeph Sholom.
