Allan H. Applestein

Allan H. Applestein died January 3rd, 2025. He was born January 16th 1932 in Baltimore, MD, but chose South Florida as home in 1961, living first downtown, then in Coral Gables and later, Aventura. Allan was a true polymath; an avid reader, brilliant and learned across many subjects. He was a serious tennis player for many years, and a lover of the arts, regularly attending the symphony and ballet. Allan was proud of his Jewish heritage and actively supported the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and Jewish Home for the Aged. He is survived by his three daughters, Amie Devero, Andrea Bivens (Jim Eisenberg), Abbie Applestein (Zvi Argad), and by his grandson, Jared Bivens, Esq. Allan's parents Rose and Aaron Applestein, his sister Betty Semer, and his granddaughter, Julia Bivens all pre-deceased him. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, January 6th, 2025 at Mt. Nebo Cemetary Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please honor his memory with a gift to the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, Jewish Home for the Aged.
